The Georgia Heritage Grant Program offers matching funds on a statewide competitive basis to local governments and nonprofit organizations for the preservation of National Register-eligible properties. The postmark deadline for sfy2010 was July 13, 2010.

Each year, the Historic Preservation Division distributes federal funds in the form of grants to Georgia's Certified Local Governments. The application deadline for FFY2010 was February 2, 2010.
The purpose of this one-time sub-grant program was to assist Georgia’s cities and towns in promoting their community landmarks through heritage tourism. The recipients were announced August 18, 2009.

In 2006, HPD received an $86,000 Preserve America grant to help preserve Georgia’s historic cemeteries. The one-time only subgrant projects are complete.
